What is Airsoft?

Airsoft is a military simulation sport in which players engage in combat with fake weapons and military tactics. Airsoft guns usually use 6 mm spherical pellets made of solid plastic. It was first designed and marketed in the United States about 30 years ago. Airsoft was created for a purely recreational activity in mind, for people who enjoy target practice or simply having fun with friends.

The design of airsoft revolves on a unique propulsion system utilizing a small amount of air to accurately shoot a lightweight pellet. It produces lower impact energy with a less damaging projectile that is accurate enough to be fun.

Airsoft is commonly compared to paintball, with some differences:

1.Unlike paintballs, airsoft pellets do not mark their target
2.Most airsoft guns are magazine-fed with no air tank, and tend to much more closely replicate real guns. This makes them more popular especially for military simulation and historical reenactments.
3.For casual players airsoft is much cheaper to try than paintball as the pellets are less expensive than paint balls.

Tactical gameplay varies in style and composition but often range from short-term skirmishes, organized scenarios, C.Q.B. (Close Quarters battle), field, military simulations (MilSim), or historical re-enactments.
